FAQ

Everything people ask before their first season.

Can I join without a team?
Yes — this is one of the most common ways people start with SPSC. Register as a free agent and SPSC places you on a team that needs players. Teams also ask for players to fill out rosters, so free agents move quickly.
Can I register with a few friends?
Yes. Register as a small group and SPSC completes your roster with other free agents so you play together.
How are free agents placed?
Register online for the league you want. SPSC does not process payment until you are placed. Payment instructions come after you register, and payment information goes to stephanie@spscdetroit.com. Space is limited, and placement only happens once registration and payment info are complete.
What ages can participate?
SPSC leagues are for adults, and rosters run a wide age range. Levels — recreational through competitive — matter more than age when you pick a league.
What skill levels are offered?
Depending on the sport: Recreational, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, Competitive, plus Open, Fun and Social divisions for leagues like bowling, darts and euchre. Every league page lists its level.
What happens if a game is canceled?
Weather calls and field closures are posted to the league status board on the homepage and on the league page. Start dates are also subject to change based on weather.
Are uniforms included?
League t-shirts are part of SPSC seasons — the shirt is the uniform. Check your league page for what is included.
When will schedules be posted?
Schedules and team information come out ahead of week one and live in Schedules & Standings for the rest of the season.
What is the refund policy?
Payment and refund terms are published in the SPSC policies page. Review them before you register.
How do I pay?
Team payments are made online, by phone or by email. Visa, Mastercard, AMEX and Discover are accepted; Venmo adds $3. Checks must be mailed immediately after you register online to hold your team spot: SPSC, PO Box 2124, Royal Oak MI 48068.
How do I become a team captain?
Register a full team and you are the captain. Captains get the schedule, roster tools and league communication. You can reuse a previous season's roster by adding a username and password at registration.
What equipment do I need?
SPSC provides game equipment and officials where listed. Bring court or field shoes for your sport — no metal spikes on lined grass fields. Darts players may bring their own darts.
Where can I find league rules?
Sport rules and club policies are published on the SPSC rules and policies page.
